SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is an open standard that allows identity providers to pass authorization credentials to service providers. It helps companies manage permissions and employee access to multiple services with a single set of credentials.
Use your company’s identity provider for authentication
Dynatrace SaaS now allows you to authenticate your Dynatrace users based on your company’s identity provider. A dedicated Dynatrace password is no longer required. Also, if your company’s identity provider uses multi-factor authentication, you now have a more secure means of authenticating your Dynatrace users.
Access and permissions management for Dynatrace SaaS users
Dynatrace has also added support for SAML authorization. Now you can manage access to and permissions for Dynatrace SaaS using your company’s identity provider.
How to get started
To get started, see Manage users and groups with SAML.
To set up SAML authentication, you need to
- Register your identity provider with Dynatrace.
- Add Dynatrace as a service provider to your identity provider.
If you run into issues or have any questions, see the Frequently asked questions (FAQs).
Please be aware that SAML federation is based on the domain part of or your organization’s corporate email address. So all users using that domain in their user name will use SAML federation for Dynatrace SaaS, once SAML federation has been set up with your identity provider.
